That’s why train runs on tracks
Many people think that why only tracks were made for the train, why were not separate roads made for it and run on it? Actually, there are many reasons behind running it on rails. The first of which is the heavy weight of the train. Yes, the weight of the train is much more than the rest of the vehicles running on the road. The weight of any loaded truck ranges from 15 to 20 tonnes, while the weight of a goods train is above 100 tonnes. The width of the truck wheel is about 10 inches and the width of the train wheel is only 4 inches. The wheels of a train have to withstand two and a half times more pressure, that’s why if the train has to run on the road, it will require 10-12 times stronger roads.

Friction remains less between the track and the wheels
The road is built on the soil. It will not be able to bear the weight of the train and the road will sink. For this reason, the load is spread over a larger area by placing sleepers under the track. In addition, the force of friction between the train tracks and its wheels is very less. In such a situation, if it is run on the road, then it will increase a lot and it will be very difficult for the train to move forward.

The train will not be able to run in the right direction
To turn all the vehicles running on the road, they are fitted with steering. Whereas, there is no such steering in the train. In such a situation, if the train is run on the road, it cannot be controlled and it cannot be decided in which direction the train has to be taken.
